Advanced AI Strategy for Nonprofits

This capstone unit synthesizes advanced AI applications for nonprofit operations, fundraising, outreach, security, and policy. Learners build on prior units to design, evaluate, and communicate responsible, measurable AI strategies that increase impact while addressing ethics, DEI, privacy, and stakeholder engagement.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze organizational workflows and stakeholder needs to identify and prioritize at least three AI-driven solutions (administration, fundraising, marketing, or security) using cost-benefit and ROI criteria
• Apply ethical, DEI, privacy, and cybersecurity frameworks to create a written AI implementation plan that includes data governance, bias mitigation, transparency measures (e.g., blockchain use cases), and risk-reduction steps
• Evaluate the effectiveness of AI-enabled programs, campaigns, or events by measuring agreed-upon ROI and impact indicators and produce a concise report with recommendations for optimization
• Demonstrate the ability to engage and train stakeholders by developing and delivering a stakeholder communication and training module plus a policy brief that outlines the nonprofit’s role in shaping responsible AI practice
