Foundations of AI-Assisted Business Writing

This unit introduces foundational AI literacy and practical techniques for using AI as a writing assistant in business contexts. Students learn how to recognize everyday AI, craft precise prompts, produce drafts and visuals for targeted audiences, and evaluate when and how to use AI responsibly to prepare for deeper application in later units.

• Analyze everyday AI tools and chatbot interactions to identify capabilities, limitations, and appropriate business-writing use cases
• Apply AI-assisted techniques to draft, revise, and format emails, articles, bios, letters, procedures, and visuals that align with specific audience needs and business purposes
• Generate and iteratively refine precise prompts to improve clarity, tone, accuracy, and narrative structure across multiple writing tasks
• Evaluate ethical, legal, and professional considerations (e.g., bias, accuracy, attribution, and situations to avoid AI use) and justify responsible AI decisions in business writing scenarios
