Integrating AI into Project Management

This unit introduces practical AI foundations and techniques for project managers, including model selection, fine-tuning, multimodal capabilities, and how ChatGPT works. Students will practice prompt engineering, generate project artifacts, and learn secure, ethical implementation and risk mitigation in the initiating and planning phases.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze AI model types, fine-tuning approaches, multimodal capabilities, and token/word-per-interaction limits to select appropriate AI solutions for specific project management scenarios
• Apply prompt engineering methods and ChatGPT workflows to produce and refine project artifacts such as agendas, internal communications, planning templates, and status summaries
• Demonstrate secure AI implementation strategies by integrating AI models into project processes while identifying necessary data governance, access controls, and technical safeguards
• Evaluate ethical and risk considerations related to predictive AI use in initiating and planning phases and recommend mitigation strategies to support responsible decision making
