Microsoft 365 Foundations for Office Admin

This unit introduces students to the core Microsoft 365 apps, collaboration workflows, and device considerations used in office administration. Learners will practice creating, sharing, and managing documents and communications while gaining an introductory understanding of Power Platform and Power BI to prepare for deeper automation and data work in later units.

Learning Objectives

• Demonstrate proficiency navigating the Microsoft 365 environment and identify the appropriate app(s) for common office tasks (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
• Apply Teams and communication tools to plan and conduct virtual collaboration: create teams and channels, schedule and host meetings and webinars, use chat/calling features, and manage meeting pre‑work and follow-up.
• Utilize core productivity features to create and manage content: co-author and version documents, perform basic Excel functions and formulas, build effective PowerPoint slides, and organize email and calendars in Outlook while syncing files via OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Evaluate introductory Power Platform and Power BI concepts, gather requirements for simple apps and reports, personalize user settings, and implement basic device and security practices to prepare for building automated workflows and data visualizations in subsequent units.
