This unit introduces foundational UX concepts, the design process, and the value of user-centered approaches. Students will learn to identify target users, produce basic experience models, and adopt an iterative mindset that prepares them for prototyping and evaluation in later units.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze core principles and stages of the UX design process and map them to project goals and deliverables
- Evaluate the business and user-centered benefits of applying UX methods by comparing case examples and anticipated outcomes
- Apply user research and segmentation techniques to create personas and a prioritized user list for a sample product
- Demonstrate basic experience modeling by producing a site map, user flow, or low-fidelity wireframe and revising it using feedback principles
