AI Impact and Synthesis in Health Informatics

This unit guides students to synthesize learning about AI applications in health informatics by examining real-world impacts, engaging in guided discussions, and drawing evidence-based conclusions. Learners will reflect on ethical, social, and professional implications and produce concise takeaways that prepare them for capstone work or workplace application.

• Analyze case studies to identify and quantify potential clinical, operational, and societal impacts of AI tools in health care
• Evaluate ethical, legal, and equity-related trade-offs of AI deployment and propose at least two mitigation or governance strategies for each identified risk
