This unit focuses on the routines, communications, and operational checks required to open a business for the day. Students will practice time management, teamwork, customer service, and readiness inspections to ensure efficient and professional morning operations.
Learning Objectives

- Apply time-management and scheduling strategies to create an individual and team work plan that aligns morning tasks with business goals and staffing constraints
- Demonstrate professional customer-service and team communication protocols during simulated morning opening scenarios, including greetings, signage, and handoffs between staff
- Evaluate operational readiness by conducting a mock opening inspection (safety, inventory, cash handling, equipment) and document corrective actions to address deficiencies
