Workplace Success and Productivity

This unit develops foundational personal and interpersonal skills that drive success in business settings, including habits of professionalism, goal setting, teamwork, negotiation, organization, and interruption management. It builds on students’ prior self-awareness work and prepares them to apply productivity and collaboration strategies in more complex business scenarios in later units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze personal habits, attitudes, and hallmarks of workplace success to identify at least three strengths and two areas for improvement and create a written action plan.
• Apply goal-setting frameworks (e.g., SMART) to produce at least two short-term and one long-term professional goals with measurable milestones and timelines.
• Demonstrate effective teamwork and negotiation techniques by participating in role-play or simulation activities and achieving mutually agreed-upon outcomes in at least two scenarios.
• Evaluate and implement organization, time-management, workspace setup, and interruption-control strategies by creating a prioritized weekly schedule, a workspace checklist, and a one-week tracking log showing improved focus or reduced interruptions.
