Applied NLP and Generative AI with Azure

This unit explores natural language processing, speech, translation, and generative AI concepts and shows how to apply Azure AI services (Language, Speech, Translator, Cognitive Search, and Azure OpenAI) to real-world scenarios. Learners build end-to-end pipelines, assess model performance and ethics, and prepare for certification exam tasks and integration challenges.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze NLP and speech processing tasks and select the appropriate Azure AI services (Language, Speech, Translator, Cognitive Search) or model families for a given scenario
• Apply text preprocessing, representation, language modeling, classification, extraction, translation, and speech basics to build and implement end-to-end NLP pipelines using Azure services and SDKs
• Demonstrate the core concepts of generative models, training/inference mechanics, and Azure OpenAI capabilities, and integrate generative outputs (including image generation) with other Azure services in an application
• Evaluate model performance, alignment, ethical considerations, and common deployment challenges to prepare for certification exam scenarios and troubleshoot solution behavior
