Interactive Web Scripting and Accessibility

This unit focuses on advanced front-end techniques that make web pages dynamic, resilient, and accessible. Students will use JavaScript to manipulate the DOM and CSS, master core programming constructs and debugging strategies, and apply accessibility and responsive design practices for real-world user experiences.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and debug JavaScript using browser developer tools and structured techniques to identify and correct common errors, logic faults, and infinite-loop conditions.
• Apply event-driven programming and DOM/CSS manipulation to create interactive, responsive features such as form handling, selection lists, radio controls, keyboard shortcuts, and dynamic styling.
• Demonstrate mastery of core programming constructs—functions (including anonymous and arrow forms), parameter passing and return values, loops, and multidimensional arrays—and organize code into external scripts and scheduled execution (timers).
• Evaluate and implement accessibility and usability best practices, including semantic markup, keyboard navigation, color-contrast compliance, form validation, mobile-first/grid alignment, and client-side storage management.
