Intermediate Programming, UI, and Data

This unit advances students from foundational coding to intermediate, multi‑language development tasks that bridge front‑end UI, back‑end data work, and deployment. Students will work with objects, functions and closures, DOM and element manipulation, Python data tools and visualization, styling and forms, and basic app deployment while preparing portfolio‑ready projects.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and modify object, element, and document properties and methods in JavaScript and Flutter to implement dynamic user interfaces and interactive behaviors
• Apply functions, closures, variable and array manipulations, and data‑passing patterns across JavaScript and Python to create modular, reusable code
• Demonstrate data preprocessing and visualization techniques—including categorical variable handling, bag‑of‑words features, and time series plotting—using Python tools and Anaconda environments
• Evaluate debugging, styling, form handling, and deployment choices (including use of developer tools and cloud deployment workflows) to prepare and justify portfolio‑quality web applications
