Project Execution and Leadership

This unit focuses on executing projects through effective communication, schedule and resource management, assumption and risk control, and team leadership. Students synthesize previous planning work to produce a communications plan, detailed schedule and resource assignments, manage assumptions and risks, and apply interpersonal and ethical leadership skills in project delivery.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze stakeholder needs and prepare a Project Communications Management Plan that specifies messages, channels, frequency, and reporting responsibilities
• Apply work breakdown and scheduling techniques to produce a visual project schedule with defined activities, start/end dates, dependencies, durations, and assigned resources
• Demonstrate assumption and risk management by documenting project assumptions, assessing their impacts, and proposing mitigation or contingency actions
• Evaluate team roles, leadership approaches, and recognition strategies to assign personnel, resolve interpersonal issues, and reinforce ethical, respectful communication
