Project Monitoring and Scheduling

This unit develops skills for tracking project performance, communicating progress, and maintaining control of schedule and scope. Students will learn earned value analysis, schedule development and estimating, stakeholder communication (including social media), meeting facilitation, and leadership strategies to manage change and constraints.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze project performance by calculating and interpreting earned value metrics (PV, EV, AC, CV, SV, CPI, SPI) to determine schedule and cost variances
• Apply schedule development and activity-duration estimation techniques (including sequencing, critical path, and resource considerations) to produce a realistic project schedule
• Demonstrate effective stakeholder communication by preparing written progress reports, leveraging appropriate social media tools, and facilitating key project meetings to document and address change requests
• Evaluate leadership practices, team dynamics, and micromanagement tendencies and recommend corrective actions to align project execution with constraints, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations
