This unit focuses on practical prompt engineering, leadership perspectives on digital transformation from legal industry leaders, and the operational and ethical implications of integrating AI into legal workflows. Students will practice crafting effective prompts, translate technical concepts for nontechnical stakeholders, and assess the disruption and governance needs that follow from AI adoption, building on foundational AI concepts and preparing for advanced implementation and policy work in the next unit.

- Analyze prompt-engineering techniques and produce at least three revised legal prompts that demonstrate measurable improvements in accuracy, specificity, and relevance using a provided rubric
- Apply insights from in-house and firm leaders to design a concise AI integration plan for a legal team that includes workflow mapping, stakeholder responsibilities, timeline, and training milestones
- Demonstrate the ability to translate technical AI concepts into accessible materials by creating a one-page briefing and a user-friendly prompt template that a practicing partner or client can use
