Resumes, Interviews, and Career Readiness

This unit prepares learners to finalize and deploy professional application materials, deliver audience-focused presentations, and respond confidently to interviews and salary conversations. Learners will create tailored CVs/e‑CVs, practice advanced interview and communication techniques, and assess career-readiness to plan next steps for job hunting or career change.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze job postings and select the most effective CV/e‑CV format (professional, keyword, academic, international, or paper) and produce a tailored resume that incorporates targeted keywords and asset statements for a specific position
• Apply organizational and rhetorical techniques to develop and deliver a concise, audience-focused presentation that includes a strong opening, transitions, and a purposeful conclusion
• Demonstrate effective interview strategies by responding to common, behavioral, and unconventional questions, articulating employability skills and competency-based examples, and conducting a simulated salary discussion with confidence
• Evaluate personal career readiness by completing self-assessment worksheets (skills, education/training, activities, licenses/samples), identify gaps, and create a prioritized action plan with steps and timelines to address gaps and pursue target opportunities
