Learning Objectives

• Analyze the paralegal role and scope of practice by distinguishing common tasks, workplace settings, and limits that avoid the unauthorized practice of law in given scenarios
• Apply foundational legal concepts (stare decisis, administrative law, procedural vs. substantive law) and research techniques to locate authorities, gather evidence, and assemble a basic trial notebook
• Demonstrate professional communication, documentation, and office-technology skills by drafting accurate legal correspondence, organizing digital documents, and operating routine law office systems and management software
• Evaluate personal career readiness by producing targeted job search materials, comparing certification pathways, and creating a continuing-education and networking plan
