AI Strategy and Technology Planning

This unit guides learners through the practical planning needed to translate AI concepts into deployable solutions, covering model selection, data needs, compliance, ethics, and technical vision. Learners will assess organizational readiness, prioritize use cases, and prepare resource, architecture, and executive-alignment plans that set up implementation in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze organizational readiness for AI initiatives by conducting gap analyses that assess accountability, explainability, bias mitigation, compliance requirements, and data literacy to prioritize technical and training needs.
• Evaluate foundation models and technology stacks against selection criteria, data resource requirements, fine-tuning/RAG suitability, and deployment constraints to recommend the best-fit approach for targeted use cases.
• Apply data auditing and architecture evaluation techniques to produce a resource allocation and budget plan, including a recommended winning use case, technical vision, and implementation timeline.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical strategy and implications to executives by preparing an executive brief that outlines compliance/ethical considerations, case study evidence, risks, and measurable success criteria.
