Advanced JavaScript Applications and Frameworks

This unit advances students’ JavaScript proficiency by integrating language fundamentals (prototypes, classes, modules, streams, and buffers) with real-world tooling and full‑stack development patterns. Students will build and debug server-side Node.js services (Express, Mongoose, file I/O, streaming) and create modern component-based front-end interfaces using React, Vue, and Svelte, including lifecycle, state/reactivity, slots, and styling.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and apply JavaScript inheritance and object models, including prototypes, constructors, base and derived classes, and property manipulation to design reusable modules
• Apply ES modules, dynamic imports, Node.js APIs, and stream/buffer operations to implement server-side features such as file I/O, streaming data transformations, and debugging workflows
• Demonstrate the ability to build component-based front-end interfaces using React, Vue, or Svelte by implementing lifecycle methods, state/reactivity, list rendering, slots/composition, and component styling
• Evaluate and implement Express-based backends with Mongoose schemas and user registration flows, using REPL and debugging tools to troubleshoot and verify full‑stack application behavior
