Azure Machine Learning & Vision

This unit introduces core machine learning concepts, deep learning fundamentals, and Microsoft Azure services that support model development, management, and deployment. Students will also learn computer vision techniques and how to apply Azure Computer Vision, Custom Vision, Face Service, and Video Indexer; the unit lays groundwork for advanced NLP and deployment scenarios in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze common machine learning and deep learning algorithms and determine their suitability for given problem scenarios
• Apply Azure Machine Learning platform features (AutoML, datasets, compute, and model management) to prepare data, train models, and manage the model lifecycle
• Demonstrate building, deploying, and monitoring a simple ML or deep learning model in Azure, including use of AutoML and creating deployment endpoints
• Evaluate computer vision methods (image classification, object detection, OCR, facial analysis) and select appropriate Azure services (Computer Vision API, Custom Vision, Face Service, Video Indexer), considering limitations and ethical implications
