Event Execution and Risk Management

This unit builds on prior planning foundations to focus on executing, communicating, and troubleshooting business meetings and events. Students learn to manage legal and insurance concerns, design participant experiences across in-person and virtual formats, apply cultural and language adaptations, and evaluate outcomes to improve future events and vendor relationships.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze event scenarios to identify liability exposures, insurance needs, and contingency requirements and recommend mitigation strategies
• Apply communication and engagement techniques across email, recorded messages, webinars, and hybrid formats, including use of translators and cultural adaptations, to increase participant satisfaction
• Demonstrate operational event skills by setting scenes, constructing exhibits, coordinating hospitality and entertainment, and employing technology and productivity tools for seamless delivery
• Evaluate event effectiveness using surveys, feedback, negotiation outcomes, and after-action reporting to generate actionable improvements and strengthen vendor/client relationships
