Generative Media Production and Design

This unit explores practical use of generative AI for creating images, video, and audio assets, emphasizing technique, workflow, and multimodal integration. Students will build on foundational AI concepts to produce, refine, and responsibly deploy multimedia content in preparation for system-level integration and deployment in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze strengths, limitations, and typical artifacts of image, video, and audio generative models (e.g., text-to-image, text-to-video, TTS, and music generators) relative to specific project requirements
• Apply prompt engineering strategies, model parameter tuning, and iterative refinement to generate images, short videos, and audio clips that meet defined technical and stylistic criteria
• Demonstrate the integration of generated image, video, and audio assets into a cohesive short multimedia prototype including metadata, captions, and accessibility features
• Evaluate legal, ethical, and quality considerations (copyright, attribution, bias, deepfake risk, and consent) for generated media and propose mitigation, citation, and governance practices
