Integrated Systems Review & Assessment

This capstone unit synthesizes core anatomy and physiology concepts including immunity, digestion (small intestine and liver), articulations, and sensory systems while providing concentrated review and assessment practice. Students will apply knowledge from earlier units through targeted practice questions, quizzes, answer analyses, and remediation to prepare for subsequent coursework and healthcare pathway expectations.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze the cellular and systemic mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity and interpret immune response outcomes in clinical or case-study scenarios
• Apply principles of small intestine absorption and hepatic function to predict physiological consequences of dysfunction and explain nutrient/metabolic impacts on homeostasis
• Demonstrate identification and functional relationships of major joint types and articulations, relating structure to range of motion and common injury patterns
• Evaluate performance on practice questions and chapter quizzes, use answer explanations to correct misconceptions, and develop targeted remediation strategies to strengthen content mastery
