AI Implementation for Project Managers

This unit explores practical AI application across the project lifecycle, including prompt engineering, model development phases, data security, human-in-the-loop controls, and communications/archiving practices. Students will apply ethical and operational do’s and don’ts, assess professional development needs, and prepare PM workflows for safe, effective AI integration ahead of the capstone unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze real-world prompt-engineering use cases and apply prompt design principles to create at least two effective prompts tailored to common project management tasks
• Apply the six-layer AI model development lifecycle to evaluate risks and implement human-in-the-loop and data-security controls within project workflows
• Demonstrate integration of AI tools into the planning and executing process phases by producing a documented communications and archiving plan that follows established do’s and don’ts
• Evaluate team competencies and design a professional development and training roadmap that addresses soft skills, areas of expertise, and adoption barriers for AI-driven project management
